The Yang family, men and women, have served their country loyally for generations. During the war General Yang is ambushed and killed. His widow and the entire family set out to avenge his death and defend the country.

Wonder Women
I am discovering the Shaw Brothers weighty output. I suppose this is typical: 75% fights with goofy, fakey choreography. There isn’t any wire work in this one, but some magical human bridges and the like.
This time it is warrior women who by some guile and sheer persistence dominate in the end. There seem to be only a few values:
— very elaborate sets, massive casts and fancy costumes/uniforms;
— honor;
— fights and cruel executions;
— in this case very baddy baddies, and almost celestial goodies.
Unlike a western film, these women are not sexualised in the slightest, and except for the old woman leader, almost undifferentiated.
If you are like me, one or two of these is all you need.
