Minivan to Chucky’s
This is a play that has been made into a movie a few times. I saw this Italian version dubbed into fairly good English. Its appeal is supposedly in the characters, and the economy of production.
I’ll let others judge whether the interaction among the women is worth your while. It was not for me, though I could see Almodovar make something like it that mattered.
The affront is that this is shaped like a Christie mystery story. Remote, secluded house with a murderer loose and limited, known suspects. We do get half of the formula; no person is telling the truth and there are complex visits to the locked murder room. Changes in the will of the murdered patriarch were to occur the next day.
But unlike a good Christie, we don’t really have revolving motives, so even though we discover some lies, we don’t really suspect anyone. That there is no one doing detecting matters; all we have are fairly silly women.
The end seems to have satisfied no one, regardless of whether evaluated as a mystery.
