Kylo’s Curse
Peril by the numbers. If this were not Adam Driver, it would be even less interesting. We have two people, clearly intended to be as like modern humans as the creaky backstory allows. A man who has lost his daughter, and a newly orphaned girl the same age.
They are thrust into what we are supposed to take as Earth 65 million years ago, with fantasy dinos and an impending meteor. Every stage of this is from a genre playbook, and I imagine soon that we’ll see AI generated product of this ilk.
But this does have Kylo Ren, who at least to my mind has more presence in the world than the actor Driver. Since I have no reason to imagine otherwise, I see this as one of the hells Kylo must endure — and every incarnation in every film role, yet another karmic debt for what he dragged himself and us through.
That is to say, that this film is even worse for me than a simple waste, it is a voyage through forgiveness that I am doomed to take, along with folks in real life who have similar profiles.
